I grew up in Wausau, for all 18 years, then moved to Chicago for college. There’s much to love about my hometown, from an art museum, to a ski hill, and everything in between. Wausau was a wonderful place to call home!

Rib Mountain Nature
Hike the trails, enjoy panoramic views, or take a scenic drive up Rib Mountain, one of the oldest geological formations in North America. In winter, the adjacent Granite Peak Ski Area offers skiing and snowboarding.
Leigh Yawkey Art Museum
Famous for its annual "Birds in Art" exhibition, this museum offers world-class art in a serene setting, with a sculpture garden and free admission year-round.
Kayak or Canoe on the Wisconsin River
Get active on the water with a paddle down the Wisconsin River, which runs through the heart of Wausau. Rentals are available at nearby outfitters.
